Don't Fall In
Minnewaska is a place I had previously visited, but in a separate area of the park. This time, my friends and I decided to visit Minnewaska Falls, and it was definitely worth it. On the walk down the trail I spotted some flat rock that paralleled the stream leading to the top of the falls, so I began to follow it. Just feet later I slipped on some black ice and completely wiped out. Luckily, I held my camera above my head to avoid any damage, but that wasn't the extent of the fall. As I laid on my back I began to realize that I was still sliding down the rock towards the moving stream. I screamed for Mike ( you can see him in many of my pictures such as the one above) to help pull me up before I slid fully into the freezing cold stream, and he pulled me up just in time. My friends Mary and Shannon fell multiple times along the trail too, so I didn't feel so bad later on. Snapped this picture of the falls from about 75-feet above the base as Mike was climbing to the top.
